Media Size Matched to Column Size

For hydrodynamic reasons, smaller media perform best in smaller diameter columns, and larger diameter media excel in larger diameter columns. In general, 3 µm media performs best in columns up to 10 mm i.d.; 5 µm media is best suited to columns up to 30 mm i.d.; and 10 µm media is appropriate for columns up to
50 mm i.d. Columns of 100 mm i.d. or larger are generally packed with particles of 15 µm or larger in diameter.

Large particle media is available in smaller diameter columns (scout columns) to facilitate method development, scale-up and process monitoring. Scale-up Kits are also available.
