Custom purification and synthesis

YMC’s Technical Research Center located in Komatsu, Japan, is professionally equipped with an explosionproof computer-controlled purification plant including solvent recovery, GMP facilities and state-of-the-art laboratories to provide large-scale industrial custom purification and synthesis services or toll manufacturing. Preparative method development can also be performed through our European operations, where a variety of systems and columns up to 200 mm i.d. are routinely available for scale-up and pilot scale chromatography.

YMC*Gel bulk packing material

Preparative and process-scale YMC packing materials are also available in bulk from production capacities in multi-tons p.a.; spherical silicas and bonded phases can be supplied from 10 µm to 150 µm (or larger on request) in different pore sizes and specifications - with excellent lot-to-lot reproducibility in large, single-lot-sizes (of up to several hundred kgs) with low back pressure and good chemical and mechanical stability. Many of the YMC analytical grade phases are scaleable to preparative column dimensions up to 1000 mm i.d., or greater, so that a very wide variety of chromatographic processes can confidently be supported including, but not limited to, dynamic axial or radial compression column systems and SMB-techniques.

Customised product specifications and Q.C. testing (optional)

Since all manufacturing steps for YMC silicas and bonded phases are tightly monitored and controlled, product specification can be customised for certain parameters by special order. In addition, YMC has traditionally been highly interactive with regard to customer satisfaction and convenience. Therefore, whilst customised Q.C. testing can be made available where customers require, for example, matching of specific corporate standards for bulk media supply or where analytical column testing on specific customer compounds has been outsourced to YMC.

Lot reservation / selection (optional)

In spite of the very tight YMC specifications, instances occasionally do occur with very difficult analytical separations where only a specific parameter will ensure stability of a method. In such cases, YMC is prepared to offer either reservation of a specific lot of material or to provide lot selection so that the method can be safely maintained, day after day, year after year, throughout the lifetime of the compound being analysed.
